Copper Smith Barbet

Its my long wish to have a close look of Copper Smith Barbet; locally known as "Basanta Bouri". Generally its an commonly uncommon bird urban city areas, because its not that this birds are not available but the don't intent to show up easily. Earlier many of the times I encountered this birds and always love to see its beauty. But don't have the opportunity to take a clear snap.

On January, 13 I went to Bakkhali - a less popular tourist spot of southern part of West Bengal. There in the roadside I suddenly heard and recognize the twittering of Basanta Bouri and make a guess that its not coming from very far. I grab my camera tightly and stepping slowly towards the trees. With my luck I saw 4-5 birds were playing on the branches and they were less bothered about my presence. Without missing any opportunity I took couple of good quality shots.

Will plan again to go back to Bakkhali for more bird pics.
